Vectorized Love
I’ve been doing Adobe Illustrator drawings for many years and have stayed away from portraits because it is very easy to make it seem scary or weird. Also finding the right style and detail to maintain throughout the workflow is difficult but I managed to keep it consistent pretty well.

This was a surprise gift for my girlfriend and this picture seemed perfect for vectorization.
It took me 4 days ≈17 hours to make this portrait is this wonderful girl. I started with converting the image to 16 colors to find the right borders of the different color layers of her face.

Then I did the face most important contours. Then I outlined the hair and started with the highlights and hair lines. This part was the most difficult because I must keep a curtain detail threshold and with hair it's easy to over do that and it won’t look right compared to the rest of the drawing.

The hair took the most effort because it is difficult to find the right style. The lips were created and then the accessories like the glasses and the watch. The blouse was next and then finally the background. The background I kept simple for a reason because the person is the most important and not the background.
With the use of this mockup above one can see it’s a pretty nice piece to be sitting in the living room or office. I’ve chosen a light white surrounding because it matches her blouse nicely.
